Ronald Aquilina  is a specialist in Information Systems design, testing and implementation. His process experience relates to Information Systems & Database Development, Information Systems Infrastructure, Y2K, Economic Resource Planning Systems and BPR. He has also several years experience in Oracle™, dBase™, Cobol, UNIX Operating Systems and Microsoft© Applications. Ronald is currently Atlas Technology Group’s Support Manager, responsible for the day to day operation of the support team and for ensuring that customer issues are resolved in accordance with agreed Service Level Agreements. Ronald’s IT experience dates back to 1979 when he commenced his IT career as a software developer with Dowty (Malta) Ltd. He was primarily responsible for the implementation of commercial and production systems in a manufacturing environment. Following gradual promotions, he left Dowty (Malta) Ltd as Systems Manager and joined Marsovin in 1987. Until 2006, he was the Information Technology Manager at Marsovin Group. During the past 17 years, Ronald was instrumental in implementing change management systems relating to Forecasting, Bills of Material, Material Requirements Planning, Capacity Planning, Works Orders and Order Processing at Marsovin. During the past 3 years, Ronald carried out System Requirements Analysis through a series of discussions with key personnel for a new ERP system followed by the compilation of an Request For Proposal (RFP) including modules: Finance, Manufacturing, Inventory and Procurement. |  He also evaluated various ERP systems as submitted by suppliers according to the terms set by the RFP. Ronald also led the Information Systems Steering Committee intended to monitor progress of change in a project context of implementation of systems. He consolidated a communications process between the Group, hardware and software suppliers, and this led to ensured business continuity. Ronald has complemented his practical experience with sound theoretical knowledge. Between 1998 and 2001, he read Business & Management at the University of Malta whereby he obtained his Masters in Business Administration (MBA). He has also been a Member of the Institute for the Management of Information Systems (UK) since 1986. Having obtained his B.A.(Hons) Econ in 1974, Ronald is also an Economics graduate. Apart from lecturing Business & Management and Information Systems to undergraduates reading their Baccalaureate in Business at London University’s Malta Campus (St. Martin’s College), Ronald moreover tutors on Economic Resource Planning, assisting BSc students in e-commerce projects.
