Alexander Borg 
is the Managing Director of ‘Support and Supply Management (SSM) Group, a training and consultancy organisation based in Malta, with joint branches in the UK and UAE.
Before moving into the training and consultancy business, Alex had spent over fifteen years working at the back of house and support services and operations within the core activities of the Supply Chain Management with various leading organisations within the services, hospitality and project management, manufacturing and import, distribution and retail industries both in Malta and overseas.
In 1994, Alex had been entrusted by the Employment and Training Corporation with the design and implementation of innovate professional development programmes in Supply Chain Management. In 1997, after becoming a Member of the Malta Institute of Management, he was entrusted once again by the Institute to deliver different management programmes. In 1998, Alex set-up his own organisation and the Group has become an accredited centre and branch for the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport UK, bearing responsibility for Malta and for the development of links to North African Countries.

Alex is today involved in various workshops, seminars and presentations in Supply-Chain, Logistics and Transport Management and he is also involved in various consultancy projects and assignments assigned by various public and private organisations in different countries such as; UK, Italy, France, Malta, Cyprus, Romania, Poland, Tunisia, Libya and Egypt, the Gulf Region and South East Asia.
Alex is board director of GS1 Malta, e-Business Foundation, FHRD and ICTD. He is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply UK, the Chartered Institute of Logistics & Transport UK, the Malta Institute of Management, GS1/EAN International (Malta Branch) and the Foundation for Human ResourcesDevelopment (FHRD).
After Malta’s becoming a full member of the EU, Alex has once again been entrusted by the Government to establish the latest standards in training and competences in the SCM for the local industry.
